Sharing your Ambrook account with your accountant or CPA is straightforward — you invite them as a team member and assign them the Accountant role. They'll get access to everything they need to do your books, without being able to move money or manage your team.
How to invite your accountant
You must be an Admin on the account to send invites. If you're not the Admin, ask the Admin to follow these steps.
Go to Settings in the left navigation.
Select Team.
Click Invite.
Enter your accountant's name and email address.
Set their role to Accountant.
Click Send invite.
Your accountant will receive an email invitation. Once they accept, they'll be able to log in and access your organization. You can manage or remove their access at any time from Settings → Team.
What your accountant can access
The Accountant role gives broad read and edit access to your financial data — everything your CPA needs to do your books and prepare for tax season:
Ledger — view and tag all transactions, upload receipts, add cash transactions, create internal transfers
Accounts — balance sheet accounts and account balances
Analytics & Reports — analytics dashboard, interactive P&L and balance sheet reports, exporting a variety of financial data
Invoices — create invoices, view all invoices, send invoices to customers, make payments to vendors
Wallet — view wallet balance and see all cards in the organization
Funding — contact funding advisors, save programs, view and edit funding tags
Settings — view and edit organization information, manage connected accounts, view and edit automations, view reports and categories, view and edit enterprises and other tags
What your accountant cannot do
To keep your account secure, the Accountant role has restrictions on sensitive money movement and team management:
Cannot send team invites or manage other team members
Cannot apply for, add funds to, or withdraw funds from the Wallet
Cannot create or edit cards
Cannot edit categories or enterprises in Settings
Exporting data for your accountant
If your accountant prefers to work outside of Ambrook, you can also export your financial data and share it directly. Available report exports include:
Profit & Loss
Balance Sheet
General Ledger
Transaction Export
1099 Payments
Go to Settings → Export to download these reports as CSV, Excel, or PDF.

Should I make my accountant an Admin instead of Accountant?
Should I make my accountant an Admin instead of Accountant?
In most cases, the Accountant role is the right choice — it gives them everything they need to work in your books without access to money movement or team management. The Admin role should be reserved for people with full ownership of the account. If you're unsure, start with the Accountant role and adjust later from Settings → Team.
