How many accounts can I connect to my Ambrook account?
It depends on your Ambrook plan! On the premium plan, there is no limit to how many accounts you can connect to Ambrook. On the starter plan, you can connect three bank institutions to Ambrook. Here's more information about each of Ambrook's subscription plans to help you decide which is right for you.
Which accounts should I connect?
We recommend you connect all your business bank accounts and credit cards to Ambrook. This makes it easier to keep track of your businesses cashflow and tag your transaction data in real time. Here's how to set up a secure connection between your bank and Ambrook.
Should I connect my loan accounts?
We do not recommend you connect your loan accounts. Most banks do not provide detailed transaction information necessary for tax purposes.
Instead, we recommend you set up a balance sheet account to represent your loan balances on Ambrook. That way you can separately track principal and interest payments made to those accounts. Here's how to do set up a loan account on Ambrook.
What about my personal accounts?
Unless you are using your Ambrook tracking personal expenses on your Ambrook account, we do not recommend connecting your personal accounts. Instead, you can manually create transactions in Ambrook to represent business related transactions that show up on your personal statements. Here's how to manually create transactions in Ambrook.
What if my business accounts have some personal transactions?
As an owner-operator, we know it can be hard to keep personal and business spending separate. It can be difficult to figure out what the IRS considers a write-off and what is a personal expense. Do I have to connect my accounts?
You don't. You can manually upload your transactions to Ambrook. While we encourage folks to connect their accounts on Ambrook, we recognize that it doesn't always make sense to do so. There are several situations where manually uploading transactions to Ambrook might be useful:
If you’ve made a few business transactions on a personal account, but don’t want to bring those personal transactions onto your Ledger.
If you don’t use online banking for your bank account or credit card.
If your bank isn’t supported by Plaid, our third party bank connection provider.
If your bank only brings in a shorter period of history than you’d like to get started with in Ambrook (it may bring in as little as a month of data or as much as a year depending on your bank).
You notice discrepancies through reconciliation.
How long will it take for my transaction data to show up in my Ambrook account?
Transactions from your Ambrook Wallet will instantly sync to your Ledger. Transactions from external accounts will usually take 24 - 48 hours to sync to your Ledger via bank connections.
How far back can I be able to pull transaction data into my Ambrook account?
Each bank is a different when it comes to pulling in historical data. Sometimes it will pull up to 3 months of historical transaction data, sometimes only 2 weeks. If you want to pull historical data from a specific trasnaUsually up to 3 months If you are interested in pulling in more transaction data than your bank allows via connections

How do I know if Ambrook works with my bank?
Fair question. If you want to make sure your bank will work with Ambrook before you sign up, a member of our team would be happy to help you. Just send us a message.
If your bank doesn't work with our connection providers, we will file a request with them as well as your bank to set up that connection. Sometimes this can be accomplished in as little as 1 week.
